Ms. Bryant has a thorough knowledge of harp music, performance techniques,Maryland Harp Music and methods of teaching.  She has prepared students for recitals, competitions, and college auditions.  Students also play it in the music programs in their schools.  In addition, many home-school students study the instrument.

At first, students follow a clear curriculum to develop their technique, but once they have mastered the fundamentals, they have the flexibility to study music that interests them.  For example, some students have an interest in Celtic or hymn music, whereas others learn more classical music.

Maryland Harp music students often rent or rent-to-own inexpensive student instruments in order to get started.  Although the harps are not professional quality, they are a wonderful, low-risk way for students to decide whether or not they like to play before they purchase better-quality instruments.  The instruments have either 22 or 29 strings.  They are small enough to be considered lap instruments, but they are placed on platforms designed for them so that they are anchored on the floor.  This gives the student a stable base from which to play.  Adults often will choose 29-string harps.  On the other hand, 22 strings are the perfect size for young, elementary-school students.  They have a soft, waterproof cover with handles so that even young students can carry it.  They also come with a set of strings and a tuning key.

Students are not required to bring their harps to their music lessons.  Ms. Bryant has both a lever and pedal instrument for teaching.  Students have their music lessons in a beautiful studio.  For young students, parents are welcome to observe music lessons close at hand, or watch from another room.

Students find it very rewarding to learn to play such a beautiful and unusual instrument.  They develop high self-esteem because they have a unique skill that gives the listener so much enjoyment.  Call for details about Maryland Harp music lessons!
